Louis Tomlinson's takeover of Doncaster Rovers further delayed

Louis Tomlinson's proposed takeover of Doncaster Rovers has been put on hold again over image rights.

The singer is part of a group trying to buy the League One football club and the deal was expected to be concluded earlier this month.

However, the South Yorkshire Times say that negotiation over Tomlinson's image rights is causing delay.

His management are examining whether the singer would be due royalties from any profits made as a result of his association with the club.

It is suggested that sales of tickets and merchandise may increase following the takeover.

The singer is expected to become a co-chairman in a silent partner capacity, with former boss John Ryan assuming full-time responsibility.

The One Direction man previously played for the team's reserves side to raise money for charity.
