Louis Tomlinson's Doncaster Rovers takeover to be confirmed 'imminently'

Louis Tomlinson's proposed takeover of Doncaster Rovers is set to be confirmed 'imminently'.

The singer is part of a group trying to buy the League One football club and the deal was expected to be concluded earlier this month.

However, negotiations over Tomlinson's image rights has caused delay as his management examined whether he would be eligible for royalties over profits made by the club as a result of his ownership.

It is now widely reported that the takeover will be confirmed 'imminently', with the deal potentially being announced this evening (June 17).

Local media add that a press conference is expected to be held on Thursday (June 19) in London at 4pm UK time.

Tomlinson is due to become a co-chairman in a silent partner capacity, with former boss John Ryan assuming full-time responsibility.
