Louis Tomlinson 'absolutely honoured' to co-own Doncaster Rovers

Louis Tomlinson has reflected on his takeover of Doncaster Rovers.

The One Direction star and former chairman John Ryan confirmed on Thursday (June 19) that they had purchased the club.

Speaking to the League One side's official website, the singer said:

"It’s unbelievable and obviously an absolute honour. I’m such a big Doncaster Rovers fan, and to be involved with John who is so experienced and loved in the town is great. We're very ambitious, very enthusiastic and we're going to do the very best we can."

The singer and Ryan launched their tenure by unveiling the Tomlinson Ryan Trust, which is aiming to raise a total of £2 million and will enable fans to buy into the club and receive rewards in return.

Tomlinson and Ryan are due to assist the club until their takeover formally goes through on July 18.
