One Direction have confirmed plans to show their upcoming live film in cinemas.

The band recently shot footage in Milan whilst on their Where We Are European stadium tour and a DVD will be released on December 1.

However, the group have now revealed that the movie will hit the big screen for one weekend only on October 11 and 12.

Where We Are: The Concert Film has been made by the same team behind One Direction's 2013 documentary This Is Us.

Interview footage is also expected to feature alongside live clips.

Label boss Simon Cowell is credited with being an executive producer on the Where We Are film.
