One Direction Shown to Have Financial Stakes in 5 Seconds Of Summer

British boy band One Direction have been shown to own a financial stake in rockers 5 Seconds Of Summer.

The Sunday Mirror have uncovered documents that reveal One Direction’s monetary involvement with the ‘She Looks So Perfect’ Australian stars.

One Mode Productions Ltd trademarked the 5SOS brand in 2013. The company is also listed as a partner in a firm called 5SOS where 5 Seconds of Summer band members - Calum Hood, Michael Clifford, Luke Hemmings and Ashton Irwin – are also partners.

One Mode Productions was originally founded in 2012 with One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne as directors, whilst their band mates - Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan – also have an interest share.

The firm that takes care of both One Direction and 5SOS – Modest! Management – is also part of One Mode Productions, with Richard Griffiths and William Bloomfield named as directors of the company.

The setup of One Mode Productions means that One Direction are taking a cut of 5 Seconds Of Summer’s profits, which look set to increase thanks to their debut album topping the US Billboard Hot 100 chart recently.

The ‘You & I’ hitmakers frequently tweet supportive messages about their Australian counterparts. Back in February Tomlinson told his 17.2 million followers:

“Hearing @5SOS on the radio is a great way to start the day. Proud of you lads!!”

5 Seconds Of Summer are currently supporting One Direction on their Where We Are world tour.
