Niall Horan on One Direction's rise to fame: 'It’s just unbelievable'

Niall Horan has opened up on One Direction's stratospheric rise to fame.

The boyband were pieced together from five solo contestants on the UK X Factor in 2010.

They have since achieved global fame and they are currently touring the world's stadiums on their Where We Are jaunt.

It seems this tour in particular has struck home with the British-Irish quintet, with Horan telling Today:

"We have moments, especially on this tour when you step out to these amazing stadiums and stuff, we end up spending the first 20 minutes just standing there looking at each other going ‘wow look where we are’. It’s just unbelievable what’s happened."

Liam Payne added: "I remember I sat watching the Super Bowl thinking, ‘How are we going to get on stage and play to that many people?’. It’s amazing, but our fans are so amazing every single night and it’s nice to play to a crowd that genuinely love you, it’s amazing."
