One Direction on playing stadiums: 'We sometimes stand there going, 'just look where we are''

During a new interview with America's 'The Today Show', the One Direction lads opened up about playing at some of the world's biggest stadiums and admitted that it's an incredible experience and one that has made them very thankful to have such devoted followers.

Irish heartthrob Niall Horan told Carson Daly that they often have private moments when they first arrive at the venues that involve them just standing in awe at how many people they're about to sing for:

"We have moments, especially on this tour I've noticed it a lot, when you step out into these amazing stadiums we end up spending the first twenty minutes standing there going, 'look where we are...". It's unbelievable, what has happened."

Liam Payne then opened up about performing at such iconic and huge venues this time around on their Where We Are tour and confessed that it's incredibly nerve-wracking, but they're so happy to be able to fill such huge spaces with supportive fans:

"I remember when I was sat watching the Super Bowl and then I was thinking, 'how are we going to get out on that stage and play to that many people?'. It's amazing. Our fans are so amazing every single night and it's nice to play to a crowd that just genuinely loves you."
