One Direction Reveal Their Pre-show Ritual: “We are quite strange”

Before going out on stage in front of capacity stadium audiences, One Direction have a group routine they perform before each live show.

Talking to Top of the Pops magazine, Niall Horan shared the ritual that he and his band mates share ahead of their concerts.

Horan revealed: “We do this huddle where we all put our hands together and say something, but we change it up with every continent we go to.”

He added: “For South America, it’s been ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’.”

Liam Payne commented: “We are quite strange.”

Speaking about their current ‘Where We Are’ world tour, Payne said: “We've played at arenas before, but never any stadiums, so it's very different this year when we walk out and it's open air. It has a festival vibe.”

Harry Styles added: “When you're doing these big stadiums, you're so conscious that if you stand still for more than a few seconds, you think, ‘This stage is so big and I'm so small… so I look really bad.’”

One Direction are currently on the American leg of their tour and play Detroit’s Ford Field tonight (August 17) with support from the lads from 5 Seconds Of Summer.
