Harry Styles joins host of stars taking a soaking in ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Harry Styles has joined a host of stars taking a soaking in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge viral global craze, which has been getting publicity for a previously not very well known disease.

Having been nominated by Marvin and Rochelle Humes, who were soaked whilst presenting This Morning On Friday, Styles had 24 hours to rise up to the challenge.

The video of his dousing was uploaded onto Instagram. Styles nominated music industry personal manager, Irving Axoff, Kanye West and actress, Susan Sarandon.

ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig's Disease. It is a degenerative disorder of the brain and spinal cord and can kill within 2 years of diagnosis.

One Direction bandmates, Nial Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson have already taken part in the challenge. According to reports the challenge has raised around £24m ($40m) for the ALS Association so far.

Other music stars that have taken part include: Simon Cowell, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Shania Twain, Drake, Justin Bieber, Adam Lambert, Calvin Harris, Shakira, Selena Gomez, Lily Allen, Miranda Lambert, Adam Levine, Iggy Azalea, Nick Cannon, Trey Songz, Victoria Beckham, Cheryl Cole, Rita Ora, Faith Hill, Professor Green, Little Mix, Joe McElderry, Tom Fletcher from McBusted and Liam Gallagher.
