There was a One Direction link to this weekend's X Factor after Harry Styles' cousin appeared on the show.

The TV talent show returned to UK screens on Saturday (August 30) as Simon Cowell and his judges begun their quest to find Britain's top talent.

One Direction star Harry Styles' Ben Selley featured on the show as he performed in the group Concept.

They ran through Labrinth’s hit song 'Earthquake' and they impressed the judges to sail through to the next round.

Mel B said: "You’ve obviously worked hard at this and figured out the vibe and the harmonies and the style of it."

Cheryl meanwhile opined: "I love the fact that you are all friends and you’ve worked hard at it all."

Only The Young meanwhile also appeared on the show - just weeks after being chosen to perform at the Capital FM Summertime Ball at London's Wembley Stadium.
