Niall Horan on new song 'Fireproof': 'It's one of our favourite songs'

Earlier today, One Direction announced details of their brand new forthcoming album 'FOUR' and have now also shared a new song called 'Fireproof', which is on the record.

Irish heartthrob Niall Horan took to his official Twitter page this afternoon (September 8) and told his followers that they wanted to unveil the new track to give fans a taste of what to expect:

"We wanted to give "Fireproof" to you as a gift, we feel it will give you a good idea of where we are going with 'FOUR' will sound like! Also it's one of our favourite songs, so hopefully you are enjoying it! And can't wait for you to hear the rest of the album."

Back in August, Horan told 'The Today Show' in America that their new album sounds 'edgier' than their previous releases: "Think it's going to be a little bit more edgy. But obviously we feel like we've got some really good songs and we are happy."

Liam Payne also shared an update via Twitter about the group's new record, admitting they worked insanely hard on it and are proud of the final result: "Our new album is called FOUR! We've been working so hard on this…so glad we can share it with you!!!"
