One Direction star Niall Horan says he has been overwhelmed by the public's reaction to their new song 'Fireproof'.

As previously reported, the boyband confirmed on Monday (September 8) that they will be releasing their new album 'FOUR' on November 17.

A free download of the new track 'Fireproof' was made available for 24 hours via the band's official website.

The tune was warmly received by fans and it seems to show the quintet going in to a more mature direction.

Speaking on Twitter about the response to the song, singer Horan said today (September 10):

"The reaction to 'Fireproof' has been unbelievable, really makes us excited for you to hear the rest of FOUR! Thank you xx."
