One Direction on new record: 'It’s definitely our most different sounding album'

One Direction have teased more information about their next album.

The lads will release their fourth record 'FOUR' on November 17 as the follow-up to 2013's chart-topping 'Midnight Memories'.

Speaking to Billboard at this weekend's iHeartRadio Music Festival, Louis Tomlinson said that the album sees One Direction trying something different.

He said: "There’s a good balance. It’s definitely our most different sounding album. We’ve definitely tried to keep it different, really."

However, his bandmate Zayn Malik added that it isn't too much of a stark contrast.

He said: "I think it’s just a progression on the last stuff we’ve done. We haven’t tried to go too different with it. We tried to keep what is our sound, but just kind of grow with it as we’ve obviously grown up. We’ve grown a bit more facial hair. And our lyrics need to get a little older as well. So we just kind of want to grow with our fanbase."
