Liam Payne insists he is not homophobic after denouncing 'nude gay' photo

One Direction star Liam Payne has been forced to deny accusations of homophobia.

On Sunday (September 21) the Brit took to Twitter to denounce a naked photo that claimed to be of the singer partaking in homosexual activity.

However, some suggested that his comments were homophobic - and this prompted Payne to respond on Twitter once more.

He initially said: "Wow as if people think that weird photo going around is actually me lol think id rather tweet a full frontal than have people look at that."

Payne then added: "I'm 100% not homophobic. But I'm also 100% not gay so when somebody says I am I'm gunna say I'm not which does not make me a homophobe."

One Direction meanwhile will release their new album 'FOUR' on November 17.
