Harry Styles reveals anxiety troubles

One Direction star Harry Styles has admitted that he struggled with anxiety during the group's early days.

The singer is one of the biggest names in music at the moment and he is known for his on-stage swagger.

However, he revealed in an extract from the group's upcoming book Who We Are that he has had to learn to control anxiety.

Styles said: "I'm naturally a fairly confident person in most situations, but not all. At that point, any natural confidence I had was being taken over by nerves because back then I had no idea how to channel and control my anxiety.

"One Direction have always been a band that gigs heavily, so over time I've been able to learn about nerves, to understand why and when they might hit and, best of all, how to control them. Now I know that if your nerves are controlled correctly, it can actually give you a bit of an edge, an extra sense of focus."

Who We Are meanwhile will be released in the UK on September 25.
