One Direction star Niall Horan has expressed his anticipation at the 2014 Ryder Cup.

The golf tournament is taking place over September 26-28 at Gleneagles in Scotland, and it seems Irishman Horan, who has regularly played golf in the past, has taken a big interest in the event.

He tweeted on Wednesday (September 24): "Literally cannot wait for @rydercup 2014, @rydercupEUROPE are gona smash it! That team is unbeatable!"

The Ryder Cup sees teams of players from Europe and the U.S. battle it out.

Meanwhile, One Direction are currently touring North America on their Where We Are stadium jaunt.
