Music industry bible Billboard have confirmed that One Direction have a financial stake in 5 Seconds of Summer.

News of the business link broke this summer whilst the two bands' were touring North America together.

Billboard now confirm that the registered company 5SOS LLP contains the four members of 5 Seconds of Summer as directors alongside One Mode Productions.

They say that One Mode Productions consists of the five singers of One Direction and Richard Griffiths and Will Bloomfield, who are members of the two acts' management team Modest.

Billboard estimate that under a financial split seen in documents filed at London's Companies House, each member of One Direction may have pocketed $25,000 from 5 Seconds of Summer's record sales so far.

5 Seconds of Summer have supported One Direction on tour in Europe and North America this year, as well as playing with them in 2013.
