One Direction members earned almost £6m each last year

Each member of One Direction pocketed around £6m ($9.6m) last year.

The Mirror reports that documents filed with Companies House show that the group earned £49.1m ($78.7m) in 2013.

The five singers gave themselves a salary of £5.6m ($9m) over the year, with the band as a whole raking in £134,000 ($215,000) per day.

In contrast, One Direction made £18.1m ($29m) in 2012, with each member receiving £2m ($3.2m).

The group are due to release their fourth album 'FOUR' on November 17.

They are continuing their trend of releasing a new record every year, with their first coming in the shape of 2011's 'Up All Night'.
