One Direction on lyrical content of 'FOUR': 'We wanted to change the maturity levels'

'Steal My Girl' heartthrobs One Direction will release their highly anticipated new studio album 'FOUR' next month and they opened up about the creative process behind the record in a new interview with BBC Radio 2 today.

Member Liam Payne explained that choosing the songs for the final track list was a group decision that also involved their team along with music mogul Simon Cowell: "We had a big meeting in Los Angeles and we all sat down - Simon (Cowell) was there as well - and we voted."

He added: "It's fun to hear the difference in opinion and to hear our different styles come together. We all have a similar vibe for what we wanted for the album, it was very close."

Zayn Malik then went onto share details about which song on the cut he likes the most and also talked about the lyrical content of 'FOUR': 'I have a few favourite songs on there. I do like 'Stockholm Syndrome', which has a nice '80s vibe to it. It's one of my favourite songs on the album. The main thing about it is that we wanted it to be about us, and about our personal experiences. We wanted to get involved with the writing and change the maturity levels a little bit."
