One Direction's 'FOUR' is outselling the Top 5 combined on the UK albums chart

Boyband One Direction released their highly anticipated new album 'FOUR' on November 17 and today's (November 19) midweek chart update has shown that it has been an incredibly popular offering. 

The album is currently outselling the Top 5 combined and it has shifted an impressive 94,000 copies at this midway stage, putting it firmly at No.1 on the Official UK Albums Chart. 

Ed Sheeran's former chart-topper 'x' is now at No.2, Pink Floyd's 'The Endless River' has dropped to No.3, Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour' is at 4, and Foo Fighters are now at No.5 with their record 'Sonic Highways'. Rockers Nickelback are on course for their sixth Top 10 album this week with 'No Fixed Address', which has entered at No.6.

Elsewhere on the UK Top 40, David Bowie's 'best of' collection 'Nothing Has Changed' is new in at 7, opera singer Alfie Boe has made an appearance at No.10 with 'Serenata', and Amy Winehouse's 'Back To Black' has been resurrected and is now at No.28. Final positions will be confirmed this coming Sunday, November 23.
