One Direction confirmed for 'Saturday Night Live' performance

UK based boyband One Direction have been announced as the musical guests for an upcoming episode of America's iconic 'Saturday Night Live' entertainment show. 

The lads are due to take the stage for the programme's holiday episode on December 20, which will be hosted by actress Amy Adams. This isn't the first time the 'Steal My Girl' heartthrobs have been on SNL and they last appeared in December 2013 with actor Paul Rudd

Shortly after their forthcoming performance on 'Saturday Night Live', the superstars will unveil 'One Direction: The TV Special' on American commercial broadcast television December 23) and radio network NBC (8-9pm ET) although more details about this project are yet to be shared. 

Earlier this week, meanwhile, One Direction's new album 'FOUR' was confirmed to be currently outselling the Top 5 combined and it has shifted an impressive 94,000 copies at this midway stage, putting it firmly at No.1 on the Official UK Albums Chart. The final positions will be announced this coming Sunday.
