One Direction devotee aims to unite pop fandoms for charity

A One Direction supporter has called on pop 'fandoms' to unite in an effort to raise money for charity.

Rival fans of different music acts often spar and bicker on social networking site Twitter, but the user behind the popular One Direction themed account @stylatorarmy is hoping to bring together fans for an incredibly worthwhile cause.

They have created the initiative #UniteForCharity, which will raise funds for the mental health organisation SANE. Users have been asked to donate and spread a link to the project's fundraising page across different music fandoms online to raise awareness for the organisation.

Fans are also invited to create videos and signs to boost charity efforts. To donate to the project, follow the link here or for more information visit this page. You can also follow the efforts on Twitter via @uniteforcharity.
