One Direction star Liam Payne says he "hates" living out of a suitcase.

The singer is regularly on tour with the band as they travel the globe.

Their gruelling schedule means that the British-Irish boyband often have to miss out on home comforts.

Speaking to Now magazine, Payne said that he finds it difficult to effectively live out of a suitcase for weeks and months.

The Brit said: "I hate that. I hate that more than anything.

"Being away from home is a huge [downside]. You miss your family and friends."

Travelling, however, does come with some perks. Payne added:

"We went to Peru and did Machu Picchu, which was the most insane thing I think I've ever seen. [And] Rio was amazing. It's incredible to see Christ The Redeemer."
