Louis Tomlinson's loving Harry Styles message becomes second most retweeted Twitter post

A message published by One Direction star Louis Tomlinson in 2011 has become the second most retweeted post on Twitter.

The singer took to the social networking website over three years ago to write:

"Always in my heart @Harry_Styles. Yours sincerely, Louis."

The message entered One Direction fandom folklore and it has been retweeted over 770,000 times.

It has now been confirmed that the tweet has usurped a message made by US President Barack Obama in the list of most retweeted posts ever on the site.

His post, which simply said 'Four more years', showed a photo of Obama and his wife Michelle hugging after an election win in 2012.

The most retweeted post on Twitter, however, is Ellen DeGeneres' photo from the 2014 Oscars.

She enlisted stars such as Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Lawrence to take a selfie, with the post now retweeted over 3.3 million times.
