One Direction 'over the moon' about Kids' Choice Awards nomination

The first wave of nominees for the 2015 Kids' Choice Awards were announced via Billboard last night (February 19) and UK-based boyband One Direction are in the running for one of the prizes.

The heartthrobs were recognised in the Favourite Music Group category and will go head-to-head with the likes of Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5 and OneRepublic for the title. Member Niall Horan told Us Weekly that they're all honoured to be nominated:

"We're over the moon to be nominated for Favourite Music Group at this year's Kids' Choice Awards! Thank you to Nickelodeon and of course to our incredible fans."

The 2015 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards will be held on March 28 and Nick Jonas is set to host the star-studded annual event. The nominees for Favourite Song of the Year have also been unveiled and it sees Meghan Trainor, Katy Perry, Iggy Azalea ft. Charli XCX, Taylor Swift, and Nicki Minaj ft. Jessie J and Ariana Grande up for the trophy.
