Naughty Boy will replace Zayn Malik in One Direction.

The singer quit the group last week to spend more time out of the limelight.

The British-Irish boyband confirmed that they were due to continue as a four-piece - but they have now added another member to the line-up.

UK producer Naughty Boy - who has previously worked in the studio with Malik - will permanently fill the void.

The news is expected to be announced via Soundcloud after midday today (April 1).

A source close to the group confirmed that One Direction bosses looked to Naughty Boy in an effort to give the band's sound more credibility.

They added that the producer is expected to work closely with Louis Tomlinson, who is one of the group's main songwriters.
