One Direction confirm new album progress

One Direction say their new album is on track despite the group losing a member in March.

Zayn Malik left the band in order to escape the boyband limelight.

The pop act are hoping to release their fifth album later this year and sessions have already taken place.

Speaking on James Corden's Late Late Show, Niall Horan said the band remain committed to releasing a new record.

He said: "We’re looking forward to bringing out a new record and going on more tours and stuff.

"We’re really enjoying it."

The Irishman added that One Direction had no plans to split up:

"The four of us love every part of it. The shows have been great on the tour and the fans deserve it. They’ve been absolutely fantastic to us. We enjoy every aspect of it."
