One Direction talk about progress on new album: 'It's going good so far'

'Story Of My Life' sensations One Direction have shed a little light on their next studio album.

During a new interview with Billboard, Irish heartthrob Niall Horan confessed that they're making good progress with the record, which will be their first since member Zayn Malik decided to quit:

"We've been working on the album for a while and then we came out here a couple of weeks ago to go in with our regular producer and songwriters that we always work with. So we've spent a bit of time out here writing some new stuff and recording at the same time."

Liam Payne added: "It's going good so far. There's some nice vibes."

Payne also recently told Capital FM that Malik's decision was a tough pill to swallow, but won't deter him or the rest of the boys from pursuing their collective dream:

"It's like any other job really... It's like anybody else at a job, sometimes you have to move on because you're not enjoying what you're doing as much as you used to sort of thing. He wanted to go and spend some time with his family, obviously with his missus. So he's just off doing his thing and that's cool with us. We'll just keep flying the flag and that's all we can do really."
