One Direction have revealed that their next record is nearly completed.

The group are busy working on the follow-up to their 2014 effort 'FOUR'.

Speaking to Capital FM, Niall Horan confirmed that the majority of the songs are written, with many now cut to tape.

He said: "Most of the album is written and a lot of it is recorded."

The Irishman added that they are bringing a mobile studio with them on tour to "finish off some bits while they're on the road".

The band's next album will be their first without Zayn Malik, who left the group in March.
