Simon Cowell suggests 1D take a break: 'They’ve got enough hits now'

Simon Cowell has suggested that a break would do One Direction good.

The group have endured a non-stop schedule since appearing on the X Factor on 2010.

They have released four albums and have toured the globe on numerous occasions.

The British-Irish band are now a four-piece following the departure of Zayn Malik in March, but another album is in the pipeline.

Speaking to The Sun, however, label boss Simon Cowell invited the foursome to take a breather and explore other avenues.

He said: "In terms of the band, they’ve got enough hits now they can take some time off and do some other stuff they want to do.

"Then I hope they’ll have a little bit of time apart and want to get back together again. It’s a fun job, but it’s absolutely their decision.”
