One Direction star Niall Horan has issued a plea for fans not to chase the band in cars.

The group have legions of devotees across the world and many race after them on the street.

However, it seems some fans are going one further by chasing the band's cars on the roads.

Singer Horan took to Twitter overnight to express his concern at the growing trend of people following them in vehicles.

He said: "Guys, I've said it before and I'll say it again Ya can't keep driving this crazy, ya gotta be safe on the roads! Seriously.

"This thing of chasing our cars down the freeway, it's not safe, changing lanes in a crazy manner at 65mph is not on."

One Direction are currently on tour in the States on their On The Road Again run.
