One Direction say Justin Bieber chart battle will be 'good for pop culture'

One Direction believe their upcoming chart battle with Justin Bieber will be for the overall benefit of pop music.

The group are releasing their fifth album 'Made in the A.M.' on November 13.

However, Justin Bieber is also unleashing his new effort 'Purpose' on the same day.

This has sparked talk of a chart battle - something that Bieber recently said was probably being jumped on by One Direction for promotional purposes.

Niall Horan, however, believes the chart head-to-head is good for the music scene.

He told Clyde 1: "It's gonna be a good little battle, it's good for pop culture."

'Made in the A.M.' will act as One Direction's last album before they go on hiatus in 2016.

The band reportedly won't tour the record as they focus on solo endeavours.
