Harry Styles on Liam Payne's sudden illness: 'It wasn't pretty'

Boyband One Direction were forced to axe a concert in Belfast this week just minutes before they were due to hit the stage because singer Liam Payne was taken ill.

During an interview with BBC Radio 2, heartthrob Harry Styles hinted at the nature of Payne's problem and told DJ Chris Evans that his bandmate had a rather upset stomach.

When Evans asked if he should buy Payne a get-well gift, Styles said: "Pepto-Bismol. It's a stomach thing, right?" Evans replied: "Is that what's wrong with him? Does he have stomach issues, it's not a throat issue?" 'Drag Me Down' hitmaker Styles then added: "It's like... he just, he was very ill. It was kind... it was kinda not ah... it wasn't, it wasn't pretty."

On October 21, Payne reassured fans that he was feeling better: "I'm so sorry to everybody I disappointed last night. I'm feeling better now. I really hope everyone can make the rescheduled date on Friday. Thank you so much for all the trends and lovely messages you guys did for me it really shows how amazing you guys actually are."
