1D's Harry Styles chooses the songs that have influenced his life

Ahead of the release of ‘Made In The A.M.’ (November 13), One Direction's Harry Styles has selected the songs and artists who have influenced his personal musical journey.

In an interview feature with Entertainment Weekly, the heartthrob selected a number of tracks that have shaped his own tastes and had a significant impact on him.

On the first piece of music he bought himself, Harry explained:

“I think it was 'Bat Out of Hell'. Meatloaf. I think I was about 10. I used to listen to a lot of my dad’s music and my mum’s music. They already had that album that I listened to, and then my dad lost his 'Bat Out of Hell'; so I went out and got one.”

On the song he first performed in public, Styles remembered it was a solo rendition of Frank Sinatra’s ‘My Way’ aged nine: “I was at a karaoke machine in a pub and I was not very confident.”

The ‘Perfect’ star revealed that the song he wishes he wrote is Paul Simon’s '50 Ways To Leave Your Lover'. He explained: “I think the verse in that song is one of the best verses ever written. It’s incredible.”

‘Made In The A.M.’ is released tomorrow and fans can purchase a special edition of the album from HMV featuring exclusive artwork.
