One Direction confirmed to perform at the BBC Music Awards

'Drag Me Down' hitmakers One Direction have been added to the line-up for this year's BBC Music Awards, which will take place in Birmingham.

The band will perform live at the event on Thursday 10 December at Birmingham's Genting Arena from 1600-1800, and the ceremony is set to be hosted by Chris Evans and Fearne Cotton. Other performers include Ellie Goulding, Rod Stewart, Hozier, and Little Mix.

1D, meanwhile, will go on hiatus next year and member Louis Tomlinson told BBC Radio 1 that he wants to scout talent for the record label he's launching:

"We'll probably team up and do a bit of writing together and then I've got the little imprint thing. I'll probably be trying to find some people to scout up (sign to his record label). I'm going to take over the world of music and Niall's becoming a golf pro."
