One Direction have decided to change their next single choice.

The group were due to release 'Infinity' as the next cut from their 2015 album 'Made In The A.M.'.

However, they have decided to now release 'History' as the record's third single after performing it on the X Factor on Sunday (December 13).

The band wrote on Twitter today (December 14): "Your reaction to #1DHistory has been INCREDIBLE! The guys have decided to change it to the new single from #MadeInTheAM!"

The group have already released 'Drag Me Down' and 'Perfect' from their fifth record.

One Direction's performance was their last before going on a prolonged break.

They are expected to resume duties in 2017.
