One Direction star Liam Payne has revealed to fans a song he has written for another group.

The singer has teamed up with writer Jamie Scott to pen a tune for Irish boyband HomeTown.

The song is called 'The Night We Met' and it has recently been released in the UK.

Payne wrote on Twitter on Monday (December 21): "Hey everyone almost Christmas.

"Check out this song I did with hometown and Jamie Scott."

Scott has previously written tracks like 'Story of My Life' and 'You and I' for One Direction.

The boyband meanwhile are now on hiatus, with Payne expected to delve further into writing and production.

Rapper Juicy J recently revealed that music he has written with Payne will soon see the light of day.
