Arsenal footballer Mesut Ozil has reached out to One Direction star Niall Horan on Twitter.

The midfielder promised the singer tickets to a game if the team win the English premier league next year.

Horan said on Twitter on Monday (December 28) after Arsenal reached the top spot: "Someone give @MesutOzil1088 some sort of a medal .. He's stupidly good."

Ozil then replied: "thanks mate! If we are still #BPL No. 1 in May 2016 I'll invite you personally for the medal handover."

The Irish singer is a keen lover of football, with Derby County his team of choice.

Last year Horan held a charity match with a number of big name stars taking part.
