Boyband One Direction have won Capital FM's readers' poll to find the Best Fans of 2016, it has been confirmed. 

Directioners in their millions showed support for their boys to win and they came in first place with an incredible 7.3 million votes. Capital FM revealed the exciting news online tonight (January 29): "Yes, it's been a tough ride being in the fandom, but with over 7.3 million votes, they've proved that they're the biggest, most influential and most loyal fan group in the world. Well done, Directioners!"

In second place with 6.1 million votes was Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber finished third with 4.6 million votes, and Lady Gaga is at No.4 with a total of 3.2 million votes. Also in the top 10 were 5SOS, who came in at No.7 with 437,000 votes, Fifth Harmony, who finished in fifth place with 2.4 million votes, and Little Mix at No.9 with 337,000 votes.
