Louis Tomlinson to keep writing music through One Direction's break

Louis Tomlinson has confirmed that he will remain active in songwriting during One Direction's hiatus.

The band are now on a prolonged break that is expected to last through to 2017.

While Tomlinson is a new father to baby Freddie, it seems he will still set aside time to work on new music.

When asked by a fan on Twitter on Sunday (February 7) if he plans on writing during the break, the singer replied:

"Defo !!!!"

His bandmate Harry Styles looks set to foray into solo territory during the break, with the Brit recruiting new management and PR.

Liam Payne has been working with the likes of Juicy J, while Niall Horan recently expressed a desire to collaborate with Shawn Mendes.
