One Direction star to take part in Soccer Aid charity match

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson will take to the pitch at this year's Soccer Aid event.

The singer will play for the England side against the Rest of The World team.

The match, which will raise money for Unicef, is taking place at Manchester's Old Trafford stadium on June 5.

Tomlinson will line-up alongside the likes of Olly Murs, Marvin Humes and Jack Whitehall, while Robbie Williams will co-manage.

He commented: "I'm really excited to play in this year's Soccer Aid event.

"Unicef as a charity, and its workers, continue to amaze me and helping even in this small way is a privilege."

The One Direction man has often played football for charity, including as a player for Doncaster Rovers reserves.
