1D's Niall Horan signs up as assistant manager for Soccer Aid

One Direction's Niall Horan will be an assistant manager for the Rest of the World team at this year's Soccer Aid.

This means that the singer will go head-to-head with bandmate Louis Tomlinson, who is due to play for the opposing England team.

The match, which will raise money for Unicef, is taking place at Manchester's Old Trafford stadium on June 5.

Irishman Horan will be assistant to Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri in the dugout for the Rest of the World team.

Other stars due to take to the pitch for the charity game include Olly Murs, Marvin Humes and Jack Whitehall.

Jose Mourinho will manage the England team, with Robbie Williams acting as assistant.

A host of ex-footballers will also play, such as Robbie Fowler, Cafu and Edgar Davids.

Tickets are on sale now.
