Louis Tomlinson set to launch girl group on his own record label imprint

Simon Cowell has revealed that Louis Tomlinson has signed a deal to run his own record label imprint.

The singer is set to launch a girl group as his first project on the Syco label.

The band, whose identity is unknown, are currently rehearsing.

Cowell told The Sun: "He has just signed a deal with us as an imprint of a record label. He has a new artist who is going to be released this year I hope who are incredible.

“He has got fantastic instincts. He told me about this idea I would say a year or 18 months ago. He stuck with it.

“We heard the band last night, we are going to see them in rehearsals next week. They are unbelievably good. They are as good as I have ever heard. I think he has got a real knack for this."

Syco boss Cowell also suggested The Voice have tried to sign Tomlinson up as a coach on the ITV show.

However, the singer - who was previously linked with appearing on the X Factor and recently film a guest role on America's Got Talent - won't be taking up the offer.

Cowell said: "Louis is a young guy and doing America’s Got Talent show was a great experience. The network liked him, the producers liked him.

"I wouldn’t be surprised if he has been offered a lot of other shows already."
