Niall Horan pleased to return to stage after performing solo for first time

Niall Horan says there is "nothing better" than performing live after he took to the stage as a solo artist for the first time.

The singer played his debut single 'This Town' at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards at London's Wembley Arena on Sunday (October 23).

The One Direction man took to Twitter after his slot to display his excitement at performing live again.

He said: "Great to perform at @bbcr1 teen awards.

"Good to be back on stage infront of a crowd, nothing better. Thanks for having me radio 1."

Horan had already performed on TV, but the Teen Awards was his first live gig.

One Direction went on hiatus at the end of 2015, with most of the group now on solo record contracts.
