The 32-year-old, who found fame after appearing on dating show The Bachelor, was dining in the restaurant of Los Angeles’ W Hotel when she claims that the teenage heartthrob approached her.

She said: “We were seated just ­behind Harry’s table. I didn’t even know who Harry was. I listen to country music and I had never heard of One Direction, but my friend did and pointed him out to me.

“When we got up to leave, he walked straight up to me and said he would like to take me out for dinner. I didn’t know what to say. I think I just laughed.

“Then he said he was playing a ­concert in Canada later this year. I told him that ­maybe my friend and I would come to the show. He said he would like that, then he asked for my phone number. I can’t ­remember what I said. I don’t think I was rude. I just laughed and told him I was way too old for him."

The Canadian-born celebrity, who is the same age as Styles’ former girlfriend Caroline Flack, then revealed that Styles took the knockback well before adding: “Harry is cute and if I was 21, I would be all over him. But I’m 32 and I just don’t think that would be ­appropriate.

“It was only a few days after I met Harry that I realised what a big deal One Direction is. But I don’t regret ­turning him down.”
