The pair have been linked for some time in the tabloid media and the gossip recently intensified after one of Lovato's backing singers tweeted that she met Horan on Skype via Lovato.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest, Horan admitted that they have been speaking and that she is "really nice".

However, the Irishman doesn't quite know what is going to happen with them in the future. He said:

"We've spoken alright, yeah. So, I got in contact with her, she's really nice. Um, I don't know what's going to happen."
