One Direction have "amazing" first gig back in the UK

The lads of One Direction took the stage at Liverpool's Echo Arena earlier this evening (July 21) and performed their first set in the UK for quite some time.

The 'One Thing' heartthrobs played to an excited audience as part of the Radio City Live event, which also included appearances from Labrinth, Professor Green and Little Mix, and member Niall Horan took to Twitter to tell his fans they had a fantastic time:

"Liverpool you guys were amazing, hope you enjoyed the whole show! Everyone was smashin it up in there! Love been [sic] back in the UK, first show since we've back."

"Love doin radio shows especially when its a sick lineup! By the way @Labrinthda1st smashed it up."

Harry Styles also posted about the concert on the social networking site and revealed that "colouring books" had been put in their dressing room (pictured below): "I know we're young but I feel like colouring books in the dressing room is a little far."
