One Direction have admitted that they are now more successful than they could ever have imagined.

The ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ boyband, who have become a worldwide phenomenon since finishing third in the 2010 series of The X-Factor, told Radio City that they are stunned by just how much they have achieved:

Liam Payne said: "We never expected any of this at all. We thought that we would do a little bit in the UK after the end of the show.

"Now it has gone all over the world and more things have happened to us than we would ever have imagined."

The 18-year-old, who this week confirmed that he has no plans to go solo, also declared that they couldn’t have done it without the support of their fans:

"We owe it all to our fans...they are incredible and they have got us this far."
