Niall Horan is "proud to be Irish" after attending Olympic boxing match

One Direction heartthrob Niall Horan is still enjoying the Olympics and went to watch one of the games earlier today (August 1).

The 'One Thing' singer has been expressing his excitement over the international sporting extravaganza via his official Twitter page and told his 5.3 million followers that watching Irish boxer John Joe Nevin win against Kanat Abutalipov filled him with pride:

"Just been to watch @johnJoeNevin in the boxing! What a fighter! Smashin it up! #london2012. Nearly had a tear in my eye watchin @johnJoeNevin come into the ring! Just a different class! #proudtobeirish, had my irish flag on me."

Horan also praised the Olympics for bringing a sense of unity to the world and on July 30 he tweeted: "Love the olympics coz it brings all countries together! all the different countries flags together in the crowd."
