One Direction spend day in studio with Ed Sheeran
The boyband's Irish star Niall Horan updated fans on Twitter with the news as the former X Factor lads record their new album.
The quartet are working on the follow-up to their 2011 debut 'Up All Night' and it had been previously confirmed that Sheeran would help write some songs for the record.
Horan tweeted yesterday (August 8) that the group had a "great day" in the studio with Sheeran - who penned a song for 'Up All Night' - and producer Jake Gosling. He said:
"What a great day in the studio with @edsheeran @JakeGosling! Goin home! #upthelads ya can't bate the lads."
Gosling meanwhile uploaded a couple of photos onto Instagram from the day, including a shot of the guys playing with juicy melons.
